Vintage Sydenstricker blue Embassy bowl This piece was made in Brewster MA on Cape Cod in the 1960s. The Sydenstricker Glass Company is still in business though founder and visionary Bill Sydenstricker has passed away in 1994 but the company he founded continues his work. Here is what they company says about their glass: In the mid 1960's on Cape Cod, Bill Sydenstricker developed a new craft inspired by the extensive research he had conducted while at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on early Egyptian art.

This piece of vintage Sydenstricker glass is 6 3/4 inches wide and has a fluted rim. It stand one inch tall. It is signed Syd on the reverse and is in excellent condition. I believe this pattern is part of the Embassy line.

Russel Wright AM glass sherbet, seafoam Russel Wright American Modern glass sherbet, 2 3/4 inches, 5 ounces, seafoam, part of the line produced by Morgantown circa 1951, never marked. Excellent conditon. No chips, flakes or cracks. See a description of the items in this line illustrated and priced in second edition Kerr, p. 238-239.

This line can also be seen in the 2000 Keller and Ross book titled Russel Wright, Dinnerware, Pottery and More on pages 183-185. Though this line of Russel Wright glass designs may indeed be the easiest to find today, it is still relatively difficult to locate examples in excellent condition.

These sherbets were purchased as a wedding present by a woman up here in Vermont and according to her son who sold them to me were almost never used. They were wrapped and put away soon after purchase it seems. Add them to your Midcentury glassware collection or Russel Wright collection today. Priced each.

4982

Anchor Hocking Fire King Golden Anniversary This lot consists of 7 Anchor Hocking Fire King Golden Anniversary cup and saucer sets, plus 2 additional cups. Shown on page 114 of Gene Florence's Fire-King Identification and Value Guide, 1998 edition. Produced from 1949 - 1962, this set comes from a lovely old colonial home in Vermont and I don't think they were ever used. The gold is shiny and dazzling.

Though Florence values each cup and saucer set at $5 each, I have a much lower price for this lot. Buy them, perk some coffee in the percolator, bake some cookies and have the girls over!

Price is for the lot.

Akro Agate Swirl Yellow #654 planter Here is a great Art Deco #654 Akro Agate yellow swirl slag planter. Bowl is oval in shape with molded vertical scalloped sides and rim.. Item is marked with "Made in USA" and has the Akro Agate hallmark at bottom along with what I think is the number 1 on the rim across from the tradmark eagle. It measures 2 3/8 inches high sides, 6 inches long x 3 ¼ inches oval diameter.

Each side has great white marbling through it which actually goes through the bottom of the piece and reappears on the other side. Such a great lemon yellow color!
