This Rookwood 1926 vase carries the number 2865 on its base along with the Rookwood flame trademark. In the Peck Pottery book written in 1985, this shape is shown on page 147 and attributed to the designer ACM which stands for Albert Cyrus Munson. The vase stands 5 3/4 inches high, the top has a 2 1/2" opening. It is in excellent condition. The color is a beautiful deep robins egg blue and the glaze is neither a high gloss nor matte, but in between the two. It is very Deco in its use of abstract flowers in a wide band in the middle of the piece as well as a band of geometric triangles on its neck. A pleasing shape in a great color from a highly collected American pottery company from the Art Deco era. Add it to your collection today! |
