Produced by the Cheshire CT firm of Bovano (started in 1953 by John BOnsignor, Gene VAn Leight and Warren NOden), this dish is 7 inches wide and features a background in a orange red shade. The pattern is the crescent dot around one big yellow jewel, a standard Bovano motif. The color is more orange than the picture.
The back is done in the typical black counterenamel Bovano uses with three brown felt pads and the gold circle label which reads Handcrafted by Bovano of Cheshire Conn. It is in excellent shape with only one stress fracture to the enamel near the edge of the crescent. This happened during firing and cooling and is not a defect as such. Add it to your MidCentury enamel collection today. |
