| Measuring a whooping 18 inches long x 4 1/2 inches wide at its widest point, this is one party ashtray!! It features 16 rests. Made by Royal Haeger of Dundee Illinois, this glaze is known as Black Mistique, one of the renowned volcanic glazes designed by Helmut Bruchmann. It features as Ed Blas states on page 143 of his great book The Haeger Glazes, exhilirating oranges, yellow, reds and blacks and electric blues, which flow, swirl land erupt in bright profusion on black. This pattern first appeared in 1964 and only lasted through 1965, according to Blas. According to Blas, this pattern is rare, in short supply and hard to find. It is in excellent condition and ready for your home decor. Would look fabulous on a blond wood Heywood-Wakefield or Paul McCobb table or coffeetable. Add it to your Midcentury pottery collection today. |
