Designed by the great Italian designer Aldo Londi for the Bitossi firm which was contracted as part of the Raymor line of exports in the 1950s-1960s, this is one tall Rimini blue vase. It features a rich deep blue glaze and incised dots and a paisley like design. It is signed on the bottom in incised stamped letters ITALY and the shape number 69/2. Bitossi has recently re-introduced pieces from the Rimini line but this shape is not among those shown on its website. There is some rim roughness at top, but no chips, just glaze loss. All in all, put a bunch of peonies in it and plunk it on a Heywood-Wakefield blond table. Stunning!!
