Standing 7 inches tall with a top opening of 5 1/2 inches and a circumference of 32 inches, this is one serious piece of Mid-century Italian pottery. It weighs a little under 6 pounds!
Signed on the bottom rim on the side is the word Italy impressed. There is a remnant of where the label once was. I would like that it belongs to the Raymor line but without a label, impossible to say.
What I can say is that this is one beautiful piece of Italian pottery. The body of the piece is an orange over blue mottled background onto which 4 abstract stylized flowers are shown with a yellow green glaze highlighting the leaves. Both the flowers and leaves are done using negative space, an interesting technique. Both the inside and the bottom are fully glazed in this gorgeous Tuscan blue color. It is in excellent condition and would look equally stunning as a jardiniere or plant holder as well as anchoring a Noguchi or Paul McCobb Eames era piece of furniture. Add it to your collection today. |
