Manufacturer: Margaret S. Hall, California The remnant of the original gold foil paper label on the beautifully counter-enameled back of this 7 1/2 inch wide bowl states that the artist who created it was named Margaret S. Hall, from Encino, California and gives what must be a phone number as it ends in 86-2585.
This is a well executed piece from a well-trained enamelist. There were many good enamelists practicing in southern California in the late 1950s and early 1960s. The front of the bowl is a beautiful shade of bluw with a snowflake-like central design which is repeated in the five circles on the outside of the bowl with chartreuse and blue dots between them. It is in excellent shape and would make a great addition to a collection of California artists or Mid-century enamel artisits.
