The McNichol China Company operated first in East Liverpool OH before moving its operations to Clarksburg, West Virginia in the late 1920s. This mug is marked with the number 34 indicating that is was made in 1934.
This 3 1/2 inch tall coffee mug may seem skimpy by today's Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts standards, but at the time it was made in the 1920-1950 period, this was a standard size for a coffee mug. It features a two bands of green, one thicker one near the rim and another band of two thinner green lines a little further down the body.
The mug is in excellent vintage condition. The bottom is glazed whereas the edge of the bottom rim is unglazed. There is some scuffing at the very bottom of the outside bottom of the mug. I will leave the deep cleaning to you.
I would just fill in with java and enjoy!
