This striking and elegant example of American Art Glass was produced by the Viking Glass Company as part of their "Epic" line. This Viking Epic vase was shown in the 1957-1960 Viking catalogs. It measures 7 1/2 inches tall. The color of the glass? Avocado green, baby! The company called it olive green. It is ready to sit on your Midcentury Modern credenza and give it a pop of late 1960s color.
This line was full of biomorphic shapes most likely inspired by what was being produced in Scandanavia and Denmark at the time. It is a striking color and it's a modern shape and would blend in well with many Midcentury Modern decors as an accent piece. |
